The Pleasant Valley Ranger District consists of 420,000 acres surrounding the town of Young and extending north to the Mogollon Rim. Landscapes in the district include chaparral, pinyon-juniper and ponderosa pine. The district includes Sierra Ancha Wilderness, many miles of hiking trails and several campgrounds and areas with dispersed camping. Use caution with fires and comply with all regulations as this area is prone to wildfires.
