Pillsbury Crossing Wildlife Area

Pillsbury Crossing Wildlife Area is a 59-acre public area in Riley County near Manhattan in the northern Flint Hills.  The land was donated to the state in 1967 by Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Frick of Manhattan.  The natural flat rock ford of Deep Creek is named for J. H. Pillsbury, who settled in the area in 1855.  Today, Pillsbury Crossing is a popular area for fishing, boating on the creek, wildlife viewing and hiking on a short nature trail.

Directions:

From Manhattan, head south on KS-177 south for 2 miles and turn left on Deep Creek Road. Go 6 miles and turn right on Pillsbury Crossing Lane. The parking area is on the right in 0.1 miles just before the crossing.
