Piedmont Environmental Center

The Piedmont Environmental Center in High Point, North Carolina, is a 376-acre nature preserve dedicated to environmental education and outdoor recreation, offering visitors a serene escape into hardwood and pine forests, wetlands, and lakeside habitats surrounding a picturesque lake. Managed by the City of High Point, the center features over 6 miles of natural surface hiking trails, connections to the High Point and Bicentennial Greenways for extended walking or biking, and unique attractions like the North Carolina Mapscape - a large walk-on topographic model of the state

Bicentennial Greenway:


Length: 2.6 miles (in the park)
Blaze: Red, White and Blue

Bicentennial Greenway starts along Penny Road and leads for over 2.5 miles through the park, continuing on to Greensboro.


Bill Faver Lakeshore Trail:


Length: 1.8 miles
Blaze: White

Bill Faver Lakeshore Trail makes a loop starting at the PEC and runs along the High Point City Lake shore.

Deep River Trail:


Length: 2.6 miles
Blaze: Red & White

Deep River Trail splits from Bicentennial Greenway at Fork Road and follows the High Point City Lake shore north to Sunnyvale Drive.


Wildflower Trail:


Length: 0.4 miles
Blaze: Purple

Wildflower Trail makes a short loop off Bill Faver Lakeshore Trail.
