Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail

The Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail is a National Park unit following the route of the patriot militia who traveled from east Tennessee to the Battle of Kings Mountain in South Carolina in 1780.  The route stretches over 330 miles through 4 states.  Much of the route is a Commemorative Motor Route for driving and there are currently 87 miles of trails for hiking.  The portion of the trail in North Carolina is designated as a State Trail.
