Meadow Fork Falls (New River)

Meadow Fork Falls is a small waterfall on its namesake, a tributary of Dunloup Creek, in Fayette County, West Virginia.  The waterfall is located in New River Gorge National Park and Preserve.

Directions:


From Fayetteville, head south on US-19 for about 8 miles and turn left on WV-16/WV-61 south.  Go 1.5 miles and turn left on Red Star Shortcut Road.  In 0.6 miles, turn left on on Thurmond Road and follow this road for 4.5 miles to a pull-off on the right just after the bridge over Meadow Fork.

Hike Description:


Cross the street and pick up an old road just before the guard rail that follows Meadow Fork upstream.  It's overgrown but easy to follow.  In about 0.1 miles, get off the path and head down to the creek.
