Little Beaver State Park

Little Beaver State Park is a 562-acre State Park surrounding the 18-acre Little Beaver Lake in Raleigh County, West Virginia.  The lake was created in the 1940s by damming Little Beaver Creek and has been a popular area for outdoor recreation since.  In 1972, Little Beaver State Park was established as a day-use park.  The campground was built in 2011 and has since become a full service park.  In addition to the lake and campground, the park features picnic areas, boat rentals on the lake and more than 20 miles of hiking trails.

Directions:


From Beckley, head east on I-64 for about 5 miles and take exit 129.  At the exit, bear right on Grandview Road for 1.8 miles and the entrance to the park will be on the left.

Billy Goat's Gruff


Billy Goat's Gruff is a steep rocky trail connecting Lake Front Trail and Beaver Creek Trail.


Nature Ridge Trail


Nature Ridge Trail leads from the picnic area past the campsite on a ridge above the lake.


Rhododendron Run


Rhododendron Run is the longest trail in the park running along the perimeter.

Little Beaver Dam:


The Little Beaver Dam was constructed in the late 1930s by the Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps and is on the National Register of Historical Places.
