John B. Stephenson State Nature Preserve

John B. Stephenson State Nature Preserve is a 123-acre nature preserve in Rockcastle County.  The preserve is owned by Berea College and was dedicated in 1996.  The preserve is named for John B. Stephenson, a former president of Berea College who loved the area's natural beauty and worked to protect Anglin Falls.  The preserve contains a one-mile hiking trail that leads to the 75-foot waterfall.

Directions:

From Berea, head east on KY-21 for about 4 miles and turn right on US-421 south.  Go 2.7 miles and turn right on Burnt Bridge Road.  In 0.2 miles, turn left on Hammonds Fork Road.  Follow this road for 3.4 miles and make a sharp left on Anglin Falls Road.  Go just under 1 mile and turn left on the narrow gravel drive that leads to a small parking area for the preserve.
