Hector Falls (Seneca Lake)

Hector Falls is an 80-foot waterfall on Hector Falls Creek in Schuyler County, New York.  The waterfall is roadside just above Seneca Lake.

Warnings: Use caution viewing the falls from the bridge.  The section of waterfall below the bridge is private and not accessible.

Directions:

From Elmira, head north on NY-14 north for about 5 miles and turn left to stay on NY-14.  Drive another 11.9 miles to Montour Falls and turn right on College Avenue.  In 0.5 miles, turn right on Clawson Boulevard and then in 0.2 miles, turn left on NY-8.  In 2.3 miles, turn left onto Cass Road and go 1.2 miles to a right turn on NY-414.  Follow this for 2.2 miles and pull over on the right after crossing the bridge at the waterfall.

Hike Description:


From the pull-off, carefully walk across the bridge for a nice view of the waterfall.
