Headwaters State Forest

Headwaters State Forest is a 6,730-acre North Carolina State Forest in Transylvania County along the South Carolina state line.  The forest protects the headwaters of East Fork French Broad River.  The forest opened to the public in 2018, but there are no amenities and limited parking.  A number of trails runs through the forest providing access for hiking, hunting and fishing.  There are a number of waterfalls in the forest.
