Geary State Fishing Lake & Wildlife Area

Geary State Fishing Lake and Wildlife Area is a public area surrounding the lake in Geary County, 10 miles south of Junction City in the Flint Hills region of the state.  The 99-acre lake was constructed in 1959 and is surrounded by 180 acres of managed wildlife area.  The lake is primarily used for hunting fishing and the lake is stocked.  Additionally, there are opportunities for primitive camping and wildlife viewing on the lake.

From Junction City, take exit 295 on I-70 and get on US-77 south. Drive 6.6 miles and turn left on gravel State Lake Road. Go about 0.4 miles and turn left on a rough gravel road that leads to a parking are at the dam.

Geary Lake Falls is a waterfall on the spillway of the lake.
