Dunloup Falls (New River)

Dunloup Falls is a 20-foot waterfall on Dunloup Creek in Fayette County, West Virginia.  The waterfall is located in New River Gorge National Park and Preserve.

Directions:


From Fayetteville, head south on US-19 for about 8 miles and turn left on WV-16/WV-61 south.  Go 1.5 miles and turn left on Red Star Shortcut Road.  In 0.6 miles, turn left on on Thurmond Road and follow this road for 4 miles to a pull-off on the right.

Hike Description:


The waterfall is visible from the small parking area, minimal walking is required.


You can scramble down the bank a little ways for a nice view.  It's not big, but photogenic and very easy to visit.
