Buffalo River State Park is a 1000-acre Minnesota State Park protecting prairie and forest around the Buffalo River in Clay County. Combined with lands owned by the Nature Conservancy and Minnesota State University, the tallgrass prairie complex protects more than 4,500 acres. The park was established in 1937 and today contains more than 10 miles of hiking trails, a campground and a swimming pool.
