Brandywine Falls (Delaware)

Brandywine Falls is a small waterfall over a dam on Brandywine Creek in New Castle County, Delaware.  The waterfall is located in the Alapocas Run State Park.

Directions:


From Wilmington, take I-95 north to exit 8 for US-202 north.  Go 1 mile and take the exit for DE-141 north.  Drive 1.6 miles and turn left onto Alapocas Drive.  In 0.1 miles turn right for the Alapocas Ball Fields and continue to the parking at the end.

Hike Description:


From the northeast corner of the parking lot, pick up the Alapocas Woods trail to head into the forest.  In 0.2 miles, turn right on the Pawpaw Loop Trail.  In about 300 feet, the trail will cut to the right.  Go straight on an unofficial but obvious trail crosses a small drainage and then heads down towards Brandywine Creek.  The trail ends near the base of Brandywine Falls.
