Austin Bluffs Open Space (CO Springs)

Austin Bluffs Open Space is a 584-acre park owned by the city of Colorado Springs.  The area features a number of mesas and bluffs that have been separated from the foothills by I-25.  Vegetation in the open space is primarily mixed shrub communities and tallgrass meadows.  The rock formations have been rated in the highest quality formations by the US Forest Service.  The park features hiking trails around the bluffs and Pulpit Rock with great views of the city and Pikes Peak.

Mushroom Rocks:


Near the top of Pulpit Rock are some interesting mushroom-shaped rocks.


Pulpit Rock:


Pulpit Rock is a scenic rock atop the bluffs with panoramic views of Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak.
