Angel Oak Park

Angel Oak Park is a Charleston City park on John's Island.  One of the most popular tourist sites in Charleston, the park protects the Angel Oak, a massive Southern Live Oak (Quercus virginiana) considered one of the largest in the eastern United States.  Angel Oak is 65 feet high, with a circumference of 25.5 feet and produces shade covering 17,000 square feet.  It is estimated to be 300 to 400 years old.
